We both found it sweet and funny in all the right ways.This was a lovely book, just as lovely as the movie except it kept using the word "bitch" in its animal meaning and that uh took me aback every time?

Fly’s assumption that all non canine animals are stupid is quickly disproven once she met Babe. It has 128 pages.
First things first though, I wanted to know if it was based on a book.

An incredibly sweet story that I enjoyed revisiting in book form.
It was adapted as the 1995 film Babe, which was a great international success. About the Author. The greatest lesson I gained from reading this is that anyone can achieve anything they desire if they put their minds to it. I have never seen the movie this book is based on, so the story was new to me as well. Buy the selected items together. Babe has saved the flock and Mrs. Hogget decides to reward him by sparing his life.
This is one of those Dick King-Smith books that show very well his strong potential as a writer, nearly perfect as a blend of sensitivity and fun in coming up with a starkly imaginative, thrillingly unique tale that is really not like anything that the reader will have previously seen. I listened to it with my two daughters on a day trip in the car, otherwise I would have never finished it.
After twenty years as a farmer, he turned to teaching and then to writing children's books. I was delighted therefore to have the opportunity to revisit one of my favourite childhood stories.
Important lesson for any era, seems to be especially true for the current time. That lesson can be used to encourage students in a classroom to follow their dreams.

In unfamiliar surroundings the little piglet is scared. The unexpected can be as much fun, even more so. I love stories about animals, and stories that are told from an animal's point of view. I also love the characters and how their varied personalities make you feel for them, laugh, and cry. But Babe is lovely and amazing and I love having the book and being able to read it after all these years of watching the movie. King-Smith won the 1984 Guardian Children's Fiction Award, a once-in-a-lifetime book award judged by a panel of British children's writers. Only 2 left in stock (more on the way). The 5-year-old loves all talking animal stories and her 3-year-old sister likes pigs, so they loved following the adventures of the orphaned piglet who is taken in by a farmer, fostered by a sheepdog and taught to herd sheep himself. Babe then goes about copying Fly’s mannerisms and he is determined to become a sheep pig. One morning, when Babe heads up to the fields alone, he finds the sheep panicking because wild dogs and wolves are terrorising them. After retiring he would often visit and read during assemblies, he loved to get feed back from the children about what they enjoyed about his writing and maybe what they did not quite enjoy as much.
